On Sunday, February 21, at the conclusion of the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin's regular service and Scout Sunday service, the Betsuin and their pastor, Reverand Gerald Sakamoto, were each presented with a James E. West Endowment Award. This is the first time for our council that a chartered organization and their executive officer have been each presented with their own James E. West, in honor of their support of the Scouting program. Pictured below, center, is Rev. Sakamoto, surrounded by two Scouts from Troop 611, Eric A. and Kevin I., who also received their Sangha reglious emblem as part of the ceremony.
