For 2 seasons, Boys’ Life magazine and the Boy Scouts of America have teamed up, creating once-in-a-lifetime journeys to America’s hotspots for high adventure.
Season 1 of Scouting for Adventure offered six great episodes; Season 2 raises the bar with 13 shows. And with Season 3 scheduled to premiere this summer, Scouting for Adventure continues to be appointment television and must-watch viewing for kids and families alike on Outdoor Channel, America’s leader in Outdoor TV.
As Boys’ Life magazine prepares filming for the 3rd season of the TV show, they are searching for “hosts” for the upcoming season.
The Managing Editor for Boys’ Life magazine is giving our council a unique opportunity to be a part of the show. They are looking for 4 to 8 Scouts to serve as “hosts” for Season 3. These Scouts will travel with the film crew to each adventure covered, interacting with the troops and crews already on scene.
The chosen Scouts must Be Prepared to devote themselves to this project. Those chosen, will need their Spring break and entire summer free to travel with the film crew, as well as at least two random weekends during that time. It will not be constant travel; rarely will the Scouts be gone as much as a week at a time.
Candidates must be between the ages of 15 and 18, and Eagle Scouts are preferred.
To apply, each candidate must submit a brief biography and a 2 – 4 minute video in which you are on camera and
a) Tells your best Scouting story
b) “Covers” one of your unit’s meetings, activities or outings as a reporter on scene would
All submissions can be made at www.boyslife.org/sfacandidates.
Deadline is quickly approaching: March 1, 2010.
