300 Eagle Scouts March Beside Action-Packed Float in Tournament of Roses Parade, Interactive Scouting Experience Begins Nationwide Tour



Pasadena, Calif. — On Jan. 1, 2010, a new century begins for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and with it comes an invitation to the nation to experience Scouting like never before. U.S. Mint reveals design for BSA 100th Anniversary coin



Heads up, coin collectors! The U.S. Mint has unveiled its final design for the Boy Scouts of America’s Centennial Silver Dollar.



The obverse (heads) side shows a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturer, and the reverse (tails) side depicts the BSA’s iconic fleur-de-lis emblem. Some of the inscriptions are ones you’re used to seeing on a coin: “In God We Trust,” “Liberty,” and “E Pluribus Unum.”

New Merit Badges Coming in 2010

WHAT'S NEW?



Scouting’s 100-year history has been marked by many changes in merit badges. Such badges as Cement Work, Farm Layout and Building Arrangements, and Interpreting bowed out long ago, while Climbing, Disabilities Awareness, and Nuclear Science have been added since the 1990s.

Pilot: Under Armour Co-Branded Shirt

The Boy Scouts of America is considering introducing a Boy Scout shirt made by Under Armour. Boy Scouts would wear the shirt while doing activities such as service projects, hiking, camping, and other troop activities.

The BSA is interested in getting feedback on options via an online survey. Please help get the word out and encourage Scouts to take this survey.…
