Our Council has a Terrific Commissioner Team

Last night the Council Commissioner Cabinet met--what an incredible group of dedicated Scouters. We set the framework for the year. We finalized on our annual plan developed at the Management Training Seminar and discussed goals for the year. Helping the new District Commissioners be successful is a top priority. Other priorities include:

* Using the Centenniel Quality Unit Award program to help Packs, Troops, and Crews set goals to drive their success.

Newest James E. West Fellow recipient

I posted on my Facebook account the following congratulations:

Congratulations, Pablito A**, Jr... the latest James E. West (#246 since 1993) and the youngest - he is a Cub Scout in our council, honored with this award by his parents. Award to be presented soon - James E. West awards can be received when an individual gives $1000 to the endowment fund or when $1000 is collected a...nd given in a person or organization's memory or honor. Commissioners at the Pow Wow/University of Scouting

The Commissioner Service is teaching 2 classes at the Pow Wow/University of Scouting--What is a Commissioner and How do I become one? and How to work with your unit commissioner. All commissioners welcome to stop by the classes to lend a hand or share a story. We'll also be hosting a midway table--come by for a visit!

Scouting for Food

Cub Scout Pack 794 and Boy Scout Troop 792 collected food for the needy during the Scouting for Food program. The Scouts worked with St. Joseph's to fill bags donated by Safeway and Nob Hill. They collected two pickup trucks full of bags after going door to door and leaving the bags on people's doorsteps, asking them what they'd be able to donate. Once Scout in Troop 292 collected 24 bags by himself.
