On Beating Pumpkins, Pies in Faces, and Missionary Zeal

What a fantastic website. A friend asked why she should sign up for yet another social networking site, and my blink reaction was the multiple Facebook posts about great Scout happenings that are pointed at a too-broad audience. Some of my friends and family appreciate and love it, and some just don't quite get the Scouting references, significance of certain words or events, and especially humor *yet*; but I keep giving them chances. (Maybe I should read them jokes from Boys'… Continue

Wow, great. I wouldn't use tire weights - the compund is too hard for these old barrels. I use pure lead - plumber's lead - for all of my civil war rifles. Tire weights don't expand enough into the rifling. I have a small supply but find it at Orchard Supply sometimes. McMaster Carr has it also, but it costs a lot to get it shipped in.

Eric,

I am 150% with you on getting out and punching holes in paper. Since my schedule is probably more flexible than yours I would ask you to suggest some times. BTW, after a very looooooong wait, my order for primers shipped yesterday - I can now get some of my larger centerfire smokepoles energized!

Thanks for joining Eric! I would love it if you blogged on the site! When you sign in, go to blogs in the blue navigation bar. For instance, it would be good to blog about how well the field did with popcorn in surpassing their goal! This will be an interactive blog and as we invite people to join the network, they will be able to respond to what you say.

Being involved with the field, it would be good to have you list blogs throughout the week, whenever something good happens within the districts, new DE's, membership growth, popcorn sales, training, etc. It will be good to hear from the ASE.

Have fun with it, and welcome!!
